Happy Thanksgiving All!!

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition... just having an amazing dinner with my family and spending some amazing quality time with them! My Dad is an awesome cook, and he always feeds us well, especially on the holidays haha.  Turkey, cranberries, corn, potatoes, orange shertbert punch, and green bean casserole! We ususally end up watching a movie together as well!

My most memorable Thanksgiving was... unfortunately it is not a good memory.  On Thanksgiving  in 1999 my Grandma passed away.  She was one of my most favorite people, and I miss her always, but every year on Thanksgiving my heart aches just a little bit more, and she is always at the front of my mind.

My favorite Thanksgiving food or dish... Aside from the obvious being Turkey, I love cranberries! Delish!

I’m so thankful... for my family and friends who have been the great support to me in the past year in a half when my world fell apart and they all have helped me pick up the pieces! I am thankful to have a roof over my head, food in my belly, a job, a semi-working car, my doggy bella, my cats- smokey, zoey, and mamas.. I am thankful for my dvr that keeps me up to date with my tv shows, haha! I am thankful to be alive, each year that passes after the cancer was put into remission, is another year I am grateful for, and another to live to the fullest! I am also thankful that I picked up blogging, it has been the best and most positive outlet for me, and has become so much fun!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!! Xx

Finish This #30: Travelling!!

Welcome back to another week of the link-up Finish This! Hosted by 4 amazing ladies: Nicole, Jen, Lisa, & Becky! Here are my responses to this weeks prompts!

If I could fly to any destination tomorrow, I’d go to... First of all I would have to conquer my fear of flying before I "fly" anywhere haha! But if that, and money were a non-issue I would go to Italy for sure.  I have always wanted to go to Rome & Venice!  I want to see all of the historical places that I have only read about and saw in pictures in textbooks.  I have a degree in History- lol.. and I just know they are so amazing because everyone  I know who is like a big travelling person goes there for either a vacation on in recent years, Honeymoons lol.

My best advice for travelling is... something I am horribly bad at, although improving on every trip is- do not overpack!! I seriously pack for every "what if" you could think of.  I know how unnecessary it is and am definitely working on it, but I have definitely realized that unless I am going to like the Outback in Australia, I can get anything I need if I really need it, I don't need to pack it!

I (like / dislike) to travel because... it can be time consuming- I don't fly so I drive, and I mostly travel to Los Angeles to visit my friends, and it is a 3 in a half to  five hr boring drive to there.  I also hate that it gets expensive haha!

The best physical feature on my body is... I always get compliments on my hair! Even back in the days when I use to crimp my hair- wish I could find a picture of me back then haha, but the day I pick up a hair straightener was the best day of my life and second was when I starting highlight/dying it blonde.  More so than anything else that has to do with physical, I take a lot of pride and care into my hair.  It is naturally wavy, and dark brown, but I love it so much better now, but it was still pretty awesome when I was brunette as well haha!

This pic was taken like at least eight years ago..

These were taken in the past week or so- so most recent pics of me, and my awesome hair! I have been experimenting with using Garnier Fructese Beach Chic spray and I scrunch it and it gives it an cool wave.

The best physical feature on my spouse’s body is... this is an easy one because I don't have a spouse-- therefore my favorite is nothing! haha! but my favorite physical features on a guy are his eyes and smile, that's what attracted me at first to my ex-husband.  I feel like they both say a lot about a guy.  The eyes being the key to the soul and what not.

Finish This #28

Welcome back to another week of the link-up Finish This! Hosted by 4 amazing ladies: Nicole, Jen, Lisa, & Becky! It is Week 44, but my week 28 of the link up!  The link up instructions are simple: answer the prompts on your blog. Here are my responses to this weeks prompts!

MY FAMILY makes me smile because... they are so amazing.  they keep me smiling and laughing even during some of my worst times, and darkest of days.  I don't know where I would be without them. They goes for my furbaby Bella as well.  She is the best doggy in the whole world! My whole family is just full of belly laughs, and wide smiles and crazy antics, that keep a smile on my face whenever I am around them!

I put my trust... in myself and my judgement.  I am the only person in the whole world that I can trust 100%.  I do not trust easy by any means because of past events, and people I have come across that I have trusted who then turned around and betrayed me.  The only person I can trust to have my best interest at heart is me, myself, and I.

I don’t... know if I ever wanna get married again.  It is so funny because I have a whole wedding planned out in my head, where I would have it, the colors, the idea of a first look, the flowers I would want, the theme.. Like I love the idea of planning and having another wedding, and I want a family-i.e. kids, sometime, hopefully soon.  But, because of my last relationship- my ex husband, and what happened there, and I am very skeptical on the whole idea of marriage and spending my life with some other guy.  I cannot have my heartbroken and be betrayed hardcore like that ever again, my heart cannot take it!

Halloween 2014!!!

Halloween 2014 is officially in the books.  I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!  This Halloween was awesome! In the last couple of days it has seriously cooled down, like down to the 40's and 50's overnight, and Halloween night was like the perfect temperature.  It is like the weather waited for Halloween to pass before it seriously got cold, thank you weather Gods for that, much appreciated!!

I had to work the morning of Halloween, but I scheduled myself to get off about dinner time-ish so I could come home and eat dinner and get to go trick or treating with my parents and all the little ones!  I was looking forward to it for weeks!  Once my parents had gotten Ryder's (aka Puppy Bites) costume, I knew I wanted to match him and get little puppy/dog ears on a headband.. unfortunately they did not get his costume until a few days before Halloween, and I had only the day before Halloween to shop for my ears, and of course every place was a mob scene and I saw every type of animal ear, except for dog ears.  After going to multiple places, I eventually succumbed to the fact that I was not going to find any, but I happened to come upon elephant ears on a headband, and that was good enough for me because of the connection I have with elephants anyway.  Perfect! =)

After I got home from work I quickly ate some food and then got ready in my costume.  I put a little make up on, straightened a side pony and matched my grey elephant ears with a grey sweater I had recently purchased at Torrid.  We assembled all the kids outside in their costumes so we could take a group shot of all of us!  I don't think we ever got a "perfect" shot where everyone is facing forward and smiling.. but that's normal with kids raging from 12 mos to 8 years old haha!

We spent about an hour going from house to house trick or treating.. I tried to take Ryder up to each porch with the rest of the kids to get his candy, but each of the porches come with walking up between 4 to 6 stairs, and after a block of houses it became wayyy to hard to bring him up each stair in his stroller, so I walked up the stairs and porch to porch with a trick or treat bag on behalf of my little Puppy Bite!  We ended going through our whole development, and it definitely gotten super dark outside and started to cool down a bit, so we started to head home,, the kids were also getting tired as well, so It was good timing..

When we got home my parents let the kids each have a piece of candy and out of their costumes and into their jammies and in the bed did they go!

Before I forget, lemme break down each persons costumes..

Mario Man- Power Ranger
Cooper T. aka Turtle Man- Spiderman
Heidi Ho- Sparkly Witch
Me- Elephant-
Ryder P. aka Puppy Bite- A Puppy
AB aka Girl- Lil Bumble Bee

Puppy was only two months old last Halloween, so this was technically his first Halloween experience, and think he as well as all the kiddos had a fun time!  I know I had so much fun!  I felt like a lil kid again haha and it was great, as well as having my heart feel so full and melt at the same time watching all the little ones going from door to door getting more and more excited as they go saying "trick or treat" and "happy halloween"! they were just so pumped on the whole experience!

It was an awesome night... and I think I fared well in the candy I got! haha! the "pop pops" aka Lollipops go to Puppy Bite, as they are his favorite candy!  Gosh I just love him!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I am so curious, what did you all do?

November is now here, so bye bye October and Halloween and hello to November and the Countdown to Thanksgiving!

Finish This #27: All About Halloween!

Welcome back to another week of the link-up Finish This! Hosted by 4 amazing ladies: Nicole, Jen, Lisa, & Becky! It is Week 43, but my week 27 of the link up!  The link up instructions are simple: answer the prompts on your blog. Then, add the post to the collection list using the link below. Next week’s prompts are located at the bottom of this post as well!

Here are my responses to this weeks prompts!

As a kid, my favorite Halloween costume was...

I was Belle from Beauty & the Beast one year for Halloween, which was a huge departure for me because for some reason almost every year I was a kid I was some form of a witch.  One year I was Pebbles from the Flinstones, and a Spice Girl, but I couldn't find pictures of either. It is so funny because I was almost never into the Disney movies and what not.. definitely was never a girly princess type.. I love Belle though, and I especially love this costume because it was this big yellow gown type costume.. I also love this picture because it is with my Grandma and she was one of my favorite people in the whole world, and every time I miss her I look at this picture and just think of her and smile!

As an adult, I celebrate Halloween by... working.. This has been the first year in like almost six years that I have been able to be home for Halloween and celebrate.. I have always either been working or doing homework for college, or even both.  I got off work early enough this year though, in fact I specifically scheduled myself that way so I can could come home and go trick or treating with my parents and all the kiddos.  We had a good time dressing up and going around the neighborhood trick or treating from house to house.  the bags were filling up quick, they were even too heavy for my three year old brother to carry haha. I put a hair of elephant ears on and wore a gray sweater and that was the extent of my costume haha!

My favorite candy is...

I will let the picture speak for itself, because I mean how can you not love this candy! it's so delicious!!

Work Stress

Sooo, I have been at the same job for close to six years, and do not get me wrong, I honestly wouldn't have it any other way because it has been the most stable thing in my life.  It has seen me through so much, like college, cancer, falling in love, getting married, divorced and that was in between.  My workplace has been like my second home for all these years, being I have been spent more time there than my own home or anywhere else for that matter.  I have made it through six years of the revolving door of co-workers coming in and out, and even making a few friends out of some of them, that have become like a second family to me... Lately though a lot as been going on at my work.  It has become extremely overwhelming for me, both emotionally and physically, and sometimes I wonder if it is even worth it or not.  I work so incredibly hard all the time that on my days off I can barely function because I am so tired and sore, being on my feet for 8 to 12 hrs a day five days a week, it takes a toll on the body.  I can barely walk after my work days, and then my days off are spent sleeping in and spending the day in bed watching tv and getting nothing accomplished, and then half the time I have like a late afternoon nap too lol.  I have less time to do the things that I love, and that have been positive hobbies for me as of late, including blogging.  I have had so many ideas for blog posts, like "thursday thoughts" and "my top 10 lists" that I have not even been able to finish , as well as not being able to post about my brothers 21st birthday last month... My time doesn't even feel like my own anymore, and it feels kind of sucky.  Like is this really what I want? Is it really worth it?  Nothing is set in stone with my job right now, but I know whatever happens I will make it work, because I appreciate and need my job too much.. In my heart of hearts, I love my job and will stay at it for as long as they will have me.  It just has become a lot lately and I am like I said super overwhelmed!
The question I pose to my readers is this, how do you deal with work stress, or even stress in general?  Coping mechanisms?  I am doing whatever I know to do to try and deal with it, but sometimes my coping skills don't work, and I just don't know what to do and I have these mental breakdowns! I just don't want all this overwhelming stress (that I feel could possibly be worth it in the end) to just break me to the point that really don't feel like it is worth it and I just give up and up and quit.  Especially after all these years and everything that I have been through and have done to get to this point at my job.
I am sure I am not alone in these feelings... and I know my work stress is nothing special, its normal, but the word that I keep using is just OVERWHELMING. help! lol..

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and especially your work situation isn't as stressful right now as mine is currently... && I am so excited for Halloween next Friday.. I am going trick or treating with all the little ones, get ready for a special Halloween blog post next weekend!!

Peace & Love
