Heidi Turns 8/Fathers Day!!

So this past weekend (keep in mind I am including Friday as part of the weekend because it was my day off), was super jammed packed.. again! It seems like I am always busy these days for the most part.  I want to assume its because of Summer.  Like every day off I have had I have felt like I have needed a day off because of said day off.

So to start off the long weekend, was Heidi's 8th Birthday! My Parents took the kids to Wet N' Wild Water Park for the day for the occasion.  I did not go because I was up late the night prior- See my previous post about Ladies Night to see what I am talking about, if you have not already!  I spent the day in bed watching my shows on DVR.. To me that sounded more fun that spending the day in the blistering heat.. Yeah, thanks, but no thanks.  Everyone had a blast though, based on what they told me.

When everyone got home my Dad made dinner and we all quickly ate, because it was getting late and we wanted to do Cake and Presents with all the kids.  The previous day my parents had taken the kids out of the house for afternoon because my Sister, Nicole had went out of her way, and totally outdid herself on making a very special Birthday Cake for Heidi.  It was a rainbow cake, all made from scratch.  Probably one of the most awesome cakes I have ever seen!  She did an amazing job.  I even told her that night that she needs to go to Culinary School after she is finally done with High School and do Pastry Chef.  Totally right up her alley because she has so much nature talent cooking anyway, especially cakes.

So after the cake was done, it was a little late (for the kids bedtime of course), so we sent most of the kids upstairs and gave Heidi her presents! She loved everything she got from all of us.  Her face just lit up when she opened each present and saw what she got.  You see it really is important to make sure she feels special because she is actually a Foster Child under my parents care.  (We may have the potential of adopting her and her brother Mario at some point as well.  So we'll see.. ) So knowing that what we did for her made her so happy, was a great feeling!

Here are a bunch of photos from the day that I snapped! Btw when you see the photos of the cake you are gonna be shocked.. it is freaking awesome looking, and just an fyi, it tasted pretty awesome too! Puppy even had a little cake and he loved it.. once again!

Saturday I worked an 8 in a half shift, so other than being overtired from working all day and not sleeping much and it being hot, Saturday was pretty uneventful for the most part..

Last, but not least, Sunday.. Unless you live under a rock, you know that this past Sunday was actually Fathers Day!  I worked all day, but I made sure to call my Dad and wish him a Happy Fathers Day!  I also picked him up his favorite Peanut Brittle and got him a cute card!  The kids all made hand written cards with drawings and what not.  My Mom got him some lollipops and caramel chocolates as well as two mugs that you can out pictures or paper in to personalize it.  They had Turtle and Mario's hand print's traced on one and other drawings on the other.  Really Cute Idea..

My Dad made ribs and corn on the cob for dinner.. The ribs he made were probably the best I have had EVER! they were so delicious, and the meat was just falling off the bone.. Yum!
It sucked I had to work all day, but at least I was at home in the evening to spend a little bit of Fathers Day with my Dad.

Obviously I am very active on social media- Instagram/Facebook, so I posted about Fathers Day.. Here is what I wrote in honor of my Dad.. Happy Fathers Day Dad!!

Happy Fathers Day to the #1 guy in my life.. My Daddy!! Thank you for being an amazing father to me the past 26 years. I appreciate all you have done for me. You seriously are my hero. You have the biggest heart and I am in awe of what you do for all of us kids.. I seriously dont know how you & Mom do it. You are an inspiration to others in how to be a parent.. I love how you treat these foster kids like they are your own.. Making them feel special. If there were more Dads like you, these kids wouldnt need another home in the first place. I love you so much Daddy!! Xoxo

Nicole's Birthday Weekend!

This weekend my sister, Nicole, turned 17.  Just typing that, I am still thinking to myself, wow. She is 17 already.  Holy Moly!  Time sure does fly by.  I have found myself looking at her over the past couple days, and she just looks older to me.  She is really growing up.  Next year she is going to be 18, a real life grown up. It is just so crazy to me.  It just seems like yesterday she was a little baby, and I now she has her first job, and has all these plans and goals for her future.  She is really turning into an amazing young woman.  I am so proud to be her big sister.  So Happy Birthday Nicole!  I hope you had a great Birthday Weekend!!

#nicoleturns17

My sister and I are 9 years apart, and yet we are constantly bridging that age gap like it doesn't even exist or matter.  I am so thankful for her support and love as my not only my sister, but friend.  I love her sense of humor, and that she is consistently cracking me up.  I love how we have Sister Dates, and inside jokes, and that she has really become my partner in crime, in every great way possible! I love you so much Nicole!  I would not trade you for the world, and my life wouldn't be the same or complete without in it as my sister. <333

I am so grateful for my work for working with me on my schedule for the weekend, so I was able to spend the whole weekend celebrating with my sister, and our family.  Thank you so much guys; I really am fortunate enough to work with such amazing people, whom I not only can call my co-workers, but friends as well.

Saturday:  Day Two of Nicole's Birthday Weekend!

Saturday (May 31st) was day one of two of my sisters birthday weekend.  Day one being her actual birthday. I got off of work at 3p.m. and after work my Mom, Sister and I headed down to Voodoo Tattoo where the amazing Brandon Henry (he usually works at The Piercing Shop but he was there while the normal piercing guy was out of town) pierced my sisters belly button.  Yup, that is what she wanted for her birthday.  Actually, she has been nagging everyone about it for a year, and we finally got it done!  She was so excited.  My Mom was just there to pay, as soon as he started, she walked out of the room.  I was there to be the moral support.  I was holding her hand and taking pictures the whole time.  At first though, she was like "I got this", but right before he was going to put the needle in she got nervous and needed that support.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of her face at the very moment she got pierced, it was priceless.  She went from fine to bright red and mouth open as wide as it could go in a matter of seconds.

When we got home the kids had did a little birthday party decorating at the house, and dinner was ready to eat.  On the menu for the night was whatever Nicole wanted, which included some of her fave foods:  Ribs, watermelon, pickles, and her all time fave potato salad.  The only sad part of the whole day was that my Brother J.J could not be there, as he had to work, but he bought her a Google Chromecast... So now all three of us LaFon kids have one haha!

After dinner it was time for cards & presents!!! She got a aloofa on a stick, an Ed hardy bag, a candle, among-st other things.. and of course the aforementioned belly button piercing.

And of course I couldn't forget to take selfies with the fam bam (mostly with Puppy Bite) before the party was over.

Nicole left a little bit after the presents were opened to hang out with her co-workers/friends who wanted to take her out for her birthday.  They went to Pole Position, which is an indoor go carting warehouse.  She said she had a lot of fun, and they ended up going to Inn-N-Out and Fremont street afterwards.  We didn't do cake because, while Nicole likes to make cakes, she doesn't like to eat them.  Crazy right?

That brings us to Sunday.  Day 2 of Nicole's Birthday Weekend!

It also happened to be the first day of June!

Since Nicole went out with her friends Saturday Night, we had made tentative plans to go see Neighbors at the Red Rock Hotel and Casino on Sunday.  We just did not know what time, and money was potentially an issue, but we ended up making it work anyway.  We ended up going at 4:50 which of course made it not a matinee, so it was super expensive, but it was worth it to have a Birthday Sister Date with Nicole!

I took a few selfies before we left for the movie.  I thought I looked pretty cute!  Meanwhile Nicole had hijacked my cat Zoey and was taking instagram selfies with her as well.

We got to the theater, got our tickets, got concessions (popcorn, pretzel, nachos, icee, and cherry coke), then went and saw the movie, which was freaking hilarious!  I seriously almost peed my pants through out the whole movie and I was actually crying from laughing so hard at a few points.  If you have not seen the movie yet, I highly suggest it!  When we got inside the theater the previews had already started thankfully.  I hate having to go through like twenty minutes worth of previews just to get to the movie I came to watch.  Although this time most of the previews were not half bad.  Saw a few that I will probably go back to see  when they are released in the theaters like 22 Jump Street and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Here is the trailer for Neighbors just to give you a little taste of what we saw!

Sorry, was in the movie theatere so I took my flash off so the pics are hard to see.. But its pix of our food and a couple of sister selfies!

So when we got in the car our Mom informed us that our neighbor was going out of town and was going to bring us over brownies.. and we were like brownie, what a beautiful word lol...
and here is where Nicole decided to get creative with her "birthday cake" because she doesn't like cake.  She put a candle in one of the trays of brownies lol. and while my Dad was talking outside to neighbor my Mom and I sung Nicole Happy Birthday! it was pretty hilarious!  And the brownies were delicious.  They were just moist and melted in your mouth.  We had two trays of them and they are already all gone lol... So that says something..

I also got a few cute pics of Turtle Man playing with his train set. He is obsessed with it right now!

What a weekend it was.  Once again I feel like I need a day off from my day off! lol! I feel like I have been going, and, going, and going since Turtles birthday a week ago and have not stopped since.  I think I need a vacation lol.

How was everyone else's weekend? Did any of you guys do anything fun??
Talk to me in the comment section below! Xx

Peace & Love
