Happy Thanksgiving All!!

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition... just having an amazing dinner with my family and spending some amazing quality time with them! My Dad is an awesome cook, and he always feeds us well, especially on the holidays haha.  Turkey, cranberries, corn, potatoes, orange shertbert punch, and green bean casserole! We ususally end up watching a movie together as well!

My most memorable Thanksgiving was... unfortunately it is not a good memory.  On Thanksgiving  in 1999 my Grandma passed away.  She was one of my most favorite people, and I miss her always, but every year on Thanksgiving my heart aches just a little bit more, and she is always at the front of my mind.

My favorite Thanksgiving food or dish... Aside from the obvious being Turkey, I love cranberries! Delish!

I’m so thankful... for my family and friends who have been the great support to me in the past year in a half when my world fell apart and they all have helped me pick up the pieces! I am thankful to have a roof over my head, food in my belly, a job, a semi-working car, my doggy bella, my cats- smokey, zoey, and mamas.. I am thankful for my dvr that keeps me up to date with my tv shows, haha! I am thankful to be alive, each year that passes after the cancer was put into remission, is another year I am grateful for, and another to live to the fullest! I am also thankful that I picked up blogging, it has been the best and most positive outlet for me, and has become so much fun!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!! Xx

Finish This #30: Travelling!!

If I could fly to any destination tomorrow, I’d go to... First of all I would have to conquer my fear of flying before I "fly" anywhere haha! But if that, and money were a non-issue I would go to Italy for sure.  I have always wanted to go to Rome & Venice!  I want to see all of the historical places that I have only read about and saw in pictures in textbooks.  I have a degree in History- lol.. and I just know they are so amazing because everyone  I know who is like a big travelling person goes there for either a vacation on in recent years, Honeymoons lol.

My best advice for travelling is... something I am horribly bad at, although improving on every trip is- do not overpack!! I seriously pack for every "what if" you could think of.  I know how unnecessary it is and am definitely working on it, but I have definitely realized that unless I am going to like the Outback in Australia, I can get anything I need if I really need it, I don't need to pack it!

I (like / dislike) to travel because... it can be time consuming- I don't fly so I drive, and I mostly travel to Los Angeles to visit my friends, and it is a 3 in a half to  five hr boring drive to there.  I also hate that it gets expensive haha!

The best physical feature on my body is... I always get compliments on my hair! Even back in the days when I use to crimp my hair- wish I could find a picture of me back then haha, but the day I pick up a hair straightener was the best day of my life and second was when I starting highlight/dying it blonde.  More so than anything else that has to do with physical, I take a lot of pride and care into my hair.  It is naturally wavy, and dark brown, but I love it so much better now, but it was still pretty awesome when I was brunette as well haha!

This pic was taken like at least eight years ago..

These were taken in the past week or so- so most recent pics of me, and my awesome hair! I have been experimenting with using Garnier Fructese Beach Chic spray and I scrunch it and it gives it an cool wave.

The best physical feature on my spouse’s body is... this is an easy one because I don't have a spouse-- therefore my favorite is nothing! haha! but my favorite physical features on a guy are his eyes and smile, that's what attracted me at first to my ex-husband.  I feel like they both say a lot about a guy.  The eyes being the key to the soul and what not.

Finish This #28

Welcome back to another week of the link-up Finish This! Hosted by 4 amazing ladies: Nicole, Jen, Lisa, & Becky! It is Week 44, but my week 28 of the link up!  The link up instructions are simple: answer the prompts on your blog. Here are my responses to this weeks prompts!

MY FAMILY makes me smile because... they are so amazing.  they keep me smiling and laughing even during some of my worst times, and darkest of days.  I don't know where I would be without them. They goes for my furbaby Bella as well.  She is the best doggy in the whole world! My whole family is just full of belly laughs, and wide smiles and crazy antics, that keep a smile on my face whenever I am around them!

I put my trust... in myself and my judgement.  I am the only person in the whole world that I can trust 100%.  I do not trust easy by any means because of past events, and people I have come across that I have trusted who then turned around and betrayed me.  The only person I can trust to have my best interest at heart is me, myself, and I.

I don’t... know if I ever wanna get married again.  It is so funny because I have a whole wedding planned out in my head, where I would have it, the colors, the idea of a first look, the flowers I would want, the theme.. Like I love the idea of planning and having another wedding, and I want a family-i.e. kids, sometime, hopefully soon.  But, because of my last relationship- my ex husband, and what happened there, and I am very skeptical on the whole idea of marriage and spending my life with some other guy.  I cannot have my heartbroken and be betrayed hardcore like that ever again, my heart cannot take it!

Halloween 2014!!!

Halloween 2014 is officially in the books.  I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!  This Halloween was awesome! In the last couple of days it has seriously cooled down, like down to the 40's and 50's overnight, and Halloween night was like the perfect temperature.  It is like the weather waited for Halloween to pass before it seriously got cold, thank you weather Gods for that, much appreciated!!

I had to work the morning of Halloween, but I scheduled myself to get off about dinner time-ish so I could come home and eat dinner and get to go trick or treating with my parents and all the little ones!  I was looking forward to it for weeks!  Once my parents had gotten Ryder's (aka Puppy Bites) costume, I knew I wanted to match him and get little puppy/dog ears on a headband.. unfortunately they did not get his costume until a few days before Halloween, and I had only the day before Halloween to shop for my ears, and of course every place was a mob scene and I saw every type of animal ear, except for dog ears.  After going to multiple places, I eventually succumbed to the fact that I was not going to find any, but I happened to come upon elephant ears on a headband, and that was good enough for me because of the connection I have with elephants anyway.  Perfect! =)

After I got home from work I quickly ate some food and then got ready in my costume.  I put a little make up on, straightened a side pony and matched my grey elephant ears with a grey sweater I had recently purchased at Torrid.  We assembled all the kids outside in their costumes so we could take a group shot of all of us!  I don't think we ever got a "perfect" shot where everyone is facing forward and smiling.. but that's normal with kids raging from 12 mos to 8 years old haha!

We spent about an hour going from house to house trick or treating.. I tried to take Ryder up to each porch with the rest of the kids to get his candy, but each of the porches come with walking up between 4 to 6 stairs, and after a block of houses it became wayyy to hard to bring him up each stair in his stroller, so I walked up the stairs and porch to porch with a trick or treat bag on behalf of my little Puppy Bite!  We ended going through our whole development, and it definitely gotten super dark outside and started to cool down a bit, so we started to head home,, the kids were also getting tired as well, so It was good timing..

When we got home my parents let the kids each have a piece of candy and out of their costumes and into their jammies and in the bed did they go!

Before I forget, lemme break down each persons costumes..

Mario Man- Power Ranger
Cooper T. aka Turtle Man- Spiderman
Heidi Ho- Sparkly Witch
Me- Elephant-
Ryder P. aka Puppy Bite- A Puppy
AB aka Girl- Lil Bumble Bee

Puppy was only two months old last Halloween, so this was technically his first Halloween experience, and think he as well as all the kiddos had a fun time!  I know I had so much fun!  I felt like a lil kid again haha and it was great, as well as having my heart feel so full and melt at the same time watching all the little ones going from door to door getting more and more excited as they go saying "trick or treat" and "happy halloween"! they were just so pumped on the whole experience!

It was an awesome night... and I think I fared well in the candy I got! haha! the "pop pops" aka Lollipops go to Puppy Bite, as they are his favorite candy!  Gosh I just love him!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I am so curious, what did you all do?

November is now here, so bye bye October and Halloween and hello to November and the Countdown to Thanksgiving!
