Here are my responses to this weeks prompts!

My daily hair routine consists of...  If I wake up early enough before work, and I am not super tired,  I brush it out and straighten it, but if not it just gets brushed out and thrown in either a pony, side-pony, or bun.. I usually take my showers at night so if it completely dries before I fall asleep I will sometimes straighten it as well so I just have to touch it up in the morning.  I use Tresemme' Touchable Softness Shampoo & Conditioner and then I spray Ion brand leave in conditioner (Intense Hydration) I get from Sally's Beauty Supply.  The combo leaves my hair so soft and easier to brush and manage, especially since I dye it blonde and straighten it.

The best hair advice I've received... If you are trying to grow your hair out (which I currently am), you should get a healthy trim every few months to get rid of the dead/split ends so it grows in quicker and healthier.

My hair idol is... I don't currently have one.  Years ago I use to take a specific picture to my hair stylist and get my hair cut and colored exactly like the picture.  So I guess a past hair idol was the girl in the picture.  The picture was of a girl on the MTV reality Show "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County".  Her name is Kristin Cavallari.   I was a teenager when that showed aired, and was a huge fan! I don't know why but I just really liked her beach-girl laid back blonde/dirty blonde hair style, and at one point she was getting hair extensions so the hair stylist took "before" pics and of course they made their way online, so I used those pictures as a template for my hair stylist at the time to cut my hair.  I couldn't find the actual pictures I used before online anymore, but these are pretty similar!

Finish This 17!!

Welcome back to another week of the link-up Finish This! Hosted by 4 amazing ladies: Nicole, Jen, Lisa, & Becky! It is Week 33, but my week 17 of the link up!  The link up instructions are simple: answer the prompts on your blog. Then, add the post to the collection list using the link below. Next week’s prompts are located at the bottom of this post as well!

Here are my responses to this weeks prompts!

I feel stupid when... I am at work and a customer asks me a question and the only response I have is "I don't know".  I mean I know I cannot know it all, no matter how long I have been at my job, and trying to b.s. my way through a response is just doing a dis-service to my customers, but I still feel crappy when I cannot help them, and that is the entire reason they are coming to my work.  Like I seriously feel stupid, like why do I not have the answer to their question, ugh!

I hope I never... Lose my sense of humor! I think my ability to laugh at myself, and make jokes and make others around me laugh is one of my greatest personality traits/qualities, and I would be sad if I got to the point that I could not have a sense of humor about myself. I don't wanna be this cranky old but when I am older, I wanna be that cool grandparent haha!

My one piece of advice to the world... Live. Laugh. Love. That is my motto in life, and with all I have been through, and seen, I know for a fact like is too short, so Live life to the fullest, Laugh as much and as often as possible, and Love as deeply and great as you can to those that you truly care about as those that you know truly care and love you!

Here are my responses to this weeks prompt!

13 Things To Know About Me... (that you probably didn't know, but maybe you did)

1. I wear glasses. I have since I was 8 years old.  I am far-sighted (meaning I cannot see near so well).  So I wear them for reading, and being on the computer and sometimes when I watch tv.

2. I am not good at organizing, folding and putting away my clothes correctly in a closet or dresser.  If they are already folded that work usually gets undone by me shoving the clothes into my dresser drawers lol.

3. There is nothing better than taking a drive on the freeway with the windows rolled down and the music turned up and just singing my lil heart out! I will volunteer sometimes to do things just so I can take the car to do just that..

4. I live in Las Vegas, NV but I am a SoCal "Valley Girl" at heart, and where I spent the first 14 years of my life will always be home to me.. My goal is to be able to move back someday and raise my kids in the same neighborhood where I was raised. Plus I cannot stay away from the Beach! I am a water baby at heart!

(new owners car, but the house I grew up in!)

5. I love taking pics of/with my lil siblings.  They are just the cutest and it makes me smile so wide when I see them smiling in the picture and love when they see themselves and laugh at the picture. its the cutest thing!

6. Maroon 5 is my favorite band (they were first concert I attended without my parents lol, and Adam Levine is my #MCM (mancrushmonday) every Monday! haha!

7. I have a hardcore addiction to Starbucks and I am not sorry about it at all! It started in Junior High and has only gotten worse since then haha!  It gets me through many an early morning at work, and it doesn't even have to be coffee, it can be their hot chocolate or smoothies or strawberry lemonade... but mostly coffee haha!

8. My worst habit is my nail biting! I cannot stop.. It is a nervous/anxious habit! The only time I have nails is when I get the acrylic ones put on, so that is like once in a Blue Moon, basically.

9. To go with the factoid above ^^ I actually have generalized anxiety disorder.  I have had it since I was younger from a lot of traumatic things happening to me and my family.  I am not ashamed to say that Therapy and Meds, and just being able to vent and cry sometimes help, but other times I get horrible panic attacks, and I have gotten hospitalized a few times because I could not pull myself out of them.  I am not ashamed of my disorder, and no should be because it effects more people than you can even imagine!

(one time when I went to ER for a severe anxiety/panic attack)

10. I am a natural brunette, but I feel more myself as a blonde.  I just feel better about myself with the blonde hair, so unless Me, Myself, & I ever decide to change it back, no one is gonna change my mind about being a blonde! I have been highlighting/dying my hair since Sophomore year of High School so it has been like 10 years of being a Blonde!

11. I have talked about it before, but I am a Thyroid Cancer Survivor.  I am proud to be a Survivor.  It gave me strength that I never knew I had! & I am so happy that blogging has given me such an amazing outlet to discuss what I went through and share my story, in hopes that it can help others.

12. I would rather be a home watching television or hanging out with my family than going out all the time.  I am such a hermit.. I am like an 80 year old stuck in a 25 year old's body! Although, I am trying to be more social able- but with the anxiety, it is rough! I hate feeling uncomfortable and being out of my comfort zone, but it is usually worth it in the end!

13. I wanna travel the world.  Go to places around the world like: Paris, and Italy (Venice, Rome), and the Bahamas, but I am too afraid to go on an airplane.. Have not been on one since I was like 10 years old.  One day though, because I would really love to see those places- the scenery, the food, the culture, everything!

Atlantis Hotel (Bahamas)

Here are are my responses to this weeks prompts!

If I went back to school, I would study... I graduated from College in 2010 with a Degree in History, with the idea of getting my teaching credentials and what not, but that is not what I really want to do.  When I get healthy enough and I can afford it I am definitely going back to school, and by school I mean Cosmetology School.  I have always loved "doing hair" for fun and I already dye mine, my moms, and my sisters hair.  I would love to learn more and become a hairdresser for real! I would love to make people feel pretty and hear different peoples stories, because you know you tell your hairdresser a lot while you get your hair done, I mean I always do lol..

My favorite subject in school... It is a tie between my Sociology classes and History.  That is why I studied History in college, and I took almost every Sociology/Psychology class I could take as well.  All those subjects really interest me.  I mean I am really good at observing people and their behavior and I have a really good memory so both so of those subjects really spoke to me throughout my High School and College Career.

I wish I had paid more attention... I want to say Math, but I do not wish that because I hate the subject! So I guess Science type subjects.. I mean I did enough to get B's in those classes every year but I never really tried super hard to understand it all, which is probably why I just did okay B-C work in college in those classes! Plus I always tended to have more friends that happened to be in both my Math & Science classes, so that did make it super hard to pay attention. We would always just sit in the back and pass notes.. and there was always a boy I was crushin' on that was in my math classes! #thestrugglewasreal lol

The dumbest thing I did in high school was... to be honest I cannot come up with anything dumb I did in high school.  I was almost borderline a teachers pet, but not to the point of brown nosing, but I just did really well in almost all my classes, and I kept my head down and just did my work and got through it without making waves.  I moved to a new city when I started high school, so it was kind of hard to make friendships, but I did make some, I just was not that social able, but they were good kids too so we never really got into any trouble!

In high school, I thought I knew... I thought I knew what I wanted to do with my life.  I thought I wanted to be a teacher, whether it be to little kids or even teenagers because I have a nurturing side, and I just thought the job/career fit really well with my personality.  I did my first semester at college majoring in Early Childhood Education and right after that I changed my mind and went to History... My world view honestly did not change until I got really sick and I realized what I really wanted- in regards to life and career.  In my opinion unless you really have had major life experiences in your first 18 years, than it is really unrealistic to really know what you want to do with your life, because most likely you are bound to change it up!

Summer Stormin'

Happy Monday all, and greetings from Las Vegas, where the weather is currently AMAZING!!!! That is something I did not think I was going to say at all this Summer.  This has been the longest Summer ever in Vegas.. starting in mid May. It has reached like 114 degrees at points all Summer, and it is not over yet, we are just in the beginning days of August.  The heat has been baking me all Summer, making me sick, and overheated.  I even went to Costco a couple weeks ago with my Mom and from walking from the door to our car outside I got sunburned.. so that is like what 2 minutes of sunlight. Ridiculous!!!

The last 8-10 days on and off though have been amazing!  Monsoons.  Enough said.  The lightening, the thunder, the rain! Nothing beats that.  My favorite kind of weather, that us in the desert don't see that often! As I sit here writing this, I can hear the sounds of the rain coming down outside and I am fighting the urge to go play in it, but I just showered haha! I just love it! The sounds, the smell, how the sky looks! It is just amazing.  Mother nature baby!

Well my sister, Nicole and I have taken full advantage of these storms, dancing and playing around in the rain!!! We are crazy, and it worries our Mom- she thinks we are gonna get struck by lightening lol.. But we're young and wanna play in the rain, what can we say! #sorrynotsorry

I am sure our neighbors think we are crazy as well, singing at 11p at night in the middle of the street, pretending to do a rain dance, and then Nicole busts out the old school razer scooter too lol. we are like two peas in a pod when it rains, I swear.  we just love it!

Who else loves the rain? I mean, that better be everybody, because how could you not.  It is amazing!

Hope everyone has a great week! && If you are around any time of weather like this, be safe.. as our tv says-- flash floods are dangerous, don't drive in them (Lol) common sense!

Peace & Love
